FAQs

Does Dr. Tyre take insurance?

No, Dr. Tyre does not bill insurance companies or participate in Medicare or Medicaid.

Dr. Tyre runs a cash practice and requires that payment is made in full at the time of service. Payment forms accepted include Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. If you have an HSA or FSA card, they must be one of these card types in order to be used. HSA and FSA funds may be used for Naturopathic visits if your fund offers coverage for those visits- keep in mind you are solely responsible for finding this information out from your individual fund.

At your request Dr. Tyre will provide you a superbill for her services to submit to your insurance, but she is not responsible for how your insurance company reimburses you for her services.

You are required to keep a credit card on file with me while you are a patient in my practice. Your information will be safeguarded in my Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, which uses Stripe as its payment processor.

Visit costs can be reviewed under the New Patient tab. No show and/or late cancellations within 48 hours of scheduled appointment for all service types- discovery calls, new patient appointments, and follow up appointments- will result in forfeiture of 50% of your appointment fee, which will be charged to the credit card on file at time of scheduled service .

Are Labs and Supplements covered by insurance?

Dr. Tyre uses functional lab testing in her practice that are not covered by insurance. You will know the cost of these labs upfront prior to payment. Dr. Tyre may order labs through a platform called Fullscript, which does not accept insurance, HSA, or FSA for any labs ordered through them. Again you will know the cost of recommended labs prior to payment.

For supplements and botanicals, Dr. Tyre will mostly use the trusted platform, Fullscript, which at this time does accept HSA and FSA payments for supplements (not labs). Again, coverage will depend on whether supplements are eligible expenses under your HSA or FSA fund, which you are responsible for finding out. Additionally, you will receive a discount when you purchase your supplements through Fullscript as Dr. Tyre’s patient. Dr. Tyre may make supplement recommendations from other companies and you will need to pay out of pocket for those supplements. Pricing will be provided upfront.

As an established patient, you will have an account with Dr. Tyre’s EHR, Practice Better. Through your HIPAA compliant Practice Better patient portal, you will be able to privately message Dr. Tyre with questions, concerns, and as previously mentioned, photos of your skin condition for progress tracking. You may only send health related messages through this portal, not by email. Keep in mind that Dr. Tyre will only answer questions or concerns pertaining to your current treatment plan; for all other questions, you will need to set up a follow-up appointment.

Unfortunately, no. Due to Dr. Tyre’s licensure, she can only legally see patients who reside in California at this time. Patients must also physically be in the state of California at the time of visit. Dr. Tyre will make it known if and when she can see patients from other states.

How long will it take for my health condition to improve?

Unfortunately, I cannot say exactly. When getting to the root cause of health concerns, it can take time. Additionally naturopathic treatments may take more time than pharmaceutical approaches. Please plan to commit several months to your healing journey.
